Martha's Vineyard

^ Provincetown (the rest are the Vineyard)

So because Mount Eefjopglqwosjkfbi (spelling not necessarily correct) in Iceland decided to blow the day I was supposed to go to Europe, I got stranded at home. This turned out not being too bad; I got to go into town for the marathon and see the finish line (something I've never done before), go to the spa (something I've never done before), travel to Martha's Vineyard (something I've never done before), and drive around in a cool red MiniCooper (also something I've never done before). So I didn't get to have the adventure I thought I was going to have, but I did get to have an unexpected adventure, a different adventure. Here's a few pictures I took with my dad's point-and-shoot; nothing too amazing on my part(the nature speaks for itself), but I do think they're pretty.

Catie and Delphin

So for the latest photo assignment, we have to imitate a specific work done by an artist, and then imitate their style. So, I chose a French academic painter named Delphin Enjorlas to imitate because I think his work is abostlutely gorgeous.

"Elegant Lady by the Fireside" by Delphin Enjorlas:

And my digital imitation (film versions from my normal film camera, Holga and Baby Brownie cameras will follow later):

And then, in the style of Monsieur Enjorlas:

I tried to imitate his use of soft lighting and serene expressions. Hope y'all like them =)

Memories Photo Project

The latest photo project was highly enjoyable: Memories. Pretty much, I had to take pictures of gatherings and traditions over vacation, which was easy enough, considering I was surrounded by family, friends and holiday spirit (it really is the most wonderful time of the year, haha!). So, here are the results! Enjoy =)

Film Photo Manipulation Project

Things I learned from this photo project: 1) Photo manipulation with film is actually really hard.
2) It is worthwhile.
Enjoy!

Pam's Pix

A few weekends ago, my gorgeous and incredibly wise mentor, Pam, asked me to take her photos for her new website. I have known her since seventh grade, and she has always been one of the first people I look to for advice, so of course I said yes. These are some of the results, and I think they are some of my best digitals, if I do say so myself =)

December Snowfall

I woke up this morning to find fluffy white stuff on my windowsill, so, knowing me, I had to take pictures of it, despite the fact it was: A) Freeze-your-behind-off cold outside, and B) Only like 8:30 in the morning, and most people are still sound asleep at that time of day. But, this is what I got, and I am rather fond of it, so it was worth the biting cold =)
