Victorian Age

Since I lovelovelove to work with wild, edgy, relatively out-there concepts, I decided to test my digital skills with the Victorian-inspired photo shoot. These are the results; enjoy! :-)

Paulina, a Mirror, and the Sky

For my almost-due photo project, about the usage of reflections, I enlisted the help of my gorgeous friend Paulina to model, my mother's bedroom mirror, and botyh my digital and film camera. But, oh wait!- here's the punchline- my film camera decided to die, so while I wait for it to heal at the Photo Hospital, I have one roll of film from today's shoot (pre-camera-dying) and these digital shots. For now, enjoy Paulina's beauty in digital; hopefully more later in film black and white!
Oh, and I took some nice shots of the sky this evening for those of you who like nature shots :-)

Summer Film Part 1

These are two of my all-time favorite prints, which I took over the summer at my beach house. My little sister and my friend Lisa are the models. More prints like these to come, and if you like these two, check out my other black and white film work that is archived on this blog :-)

Rain Berries

Today was rainy, which most people would hate, but I have an odd affection for rain. I think thunder and lightning is very, for lack of a better word, comfy, and I love the way rain smells. "But rain doesn't smell... it's only water!" you might say. Well, I hate to be the bearer or bad news, my friend, but you are wrong. Rain does smell; it smells like leaves, and freshness, and nature. So, being the insanely cool person I am, I took my camera out and, in my quest to someday master digital photography, snapped some shots of the berries on a bush outside of my house. Hope you like these, and from now on, smell that rain :-)

Spiders Crawling Up Your Back..yard

Well, I tried experimenting with the micro-zoom on my camera, and this was the only good result... the rest were blurry and out of focus! But I thought this was pretty cool with the light hitting the web strands.

Best movie scene... ever!

As you all know, I am beyond in love with "Alice in Wonderland," and when I heard Tim Burton was directing a live-action version, I nearly died and went to heaven. Then, I found out the cast, and (that was like a week ago) I am still smiling! Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Anne Hathaway, and... Johnny. Depp.!!!!!
Now you see why I almsot died....!
This is my all-time favorite Alice scene (from the Disney version). Enjoy!
