Catie and Delphin

So for the latest photo assignment, we have to imitate a specific work done by an artist, and then imitate their style. So, I chose a French academic painter named Delphin Enjorlas to imitate because I think his work is abostlutely gorgeous.

"Elegant Lady by the Fireside" by Delphin Enjorlas:

And my digital imitation (film versions from my normal film camera, Holga and Baby Brownie cameras will follow later):

And then, in the style of Monsieur Enjorlas:

I tried to imitate his use of soft lighting and serene expressions. Hope y'all like them =)

Memories Photo Project

The latest photo project was highly enjoyable: Memories. Pretty much, I had to take pictures of gatherings and traditions over vacation, which was easy enough, considering I was surrounded by family, friends and holiday spirit (it really is the most wonderful time of the year, haha!). So, here are the results! Enjoy =)

Film Photo Manipulation Project

Things I learned from this photo project: 1) Photo manipulation with film is actually really hard.
2) It is worthwhile.
Enjoy!

Pam's Pix

A few weekends ago, my gorgeous and incredibly wise mentor, Pam, asked me to take her photos for her new website. I have known her since seventh grade, and she has always been one of the first people I look to for advice, so of course I said yes. These are some of the results, and I think they are some of my best digitals, if I do say so myself =)

December Snowfall

I woke up this morning to find fluffy white stuff on my windowsill, so, knowing me, I had to take pictures of it, despite the fact it was: A) Freeze-your-behind-off cold outside, and B) Only like 8:30 in the morning, and most people are still sound asleep at that time of day. But, this is what I got, and I am rather fond of it, so it was worth the biting cold =)

First Gig!!!!

So, a few weekends ago, yours truly had their first-ever, legit, paying photography gig!!!! I took photos at a family friends' grandparents' wedding anniversary, and it went really well. These are some of my favorite shots. For the sake of people's privacy, I tried to avoid posting photos with people in them (but I posted a couple that I really love). Hope you enjoy! =)

Around the Town

I went around town with my mother running errands today, and took my camera (on loan from my friend, so, yes, technically not mine) with me. I got a few good shots :-)
